Fall 2016: Electromagnetic Theory II (171.301)


Overview: Electromagnetic Theory II is the one-semester course at the undergraduate junior level for physics majors. It covers electrostatics, magnetostatics, electrodynamics, electromagnetic waves, electromagnetic radiation, and related topics. This course does not cover special relativity, which is a subject of the 171.201 or 171.207 courses. Prerequisites include Physics 171.101-102 or 171.105-106, linear algebra and calculus 110.201-202. Corequisites include differential equations 110.302.
